What an amazing race....very cool to race at night...and having the two classes was fun also...spun early and cost me a lot of track position...slowly made my way back....was on same strategy as adrianno....finally caught and passed him.....then my engine started smoking with almost 2 laps to go.....turned down to boost 1 and short shifted to hang in there...

Hmmm this was so much fun....how about 350 KM of Suzuka? or Watkins Glen??

I thought this was going to be a 2 hour race :-k not a 50 lap race, so I had an extra pit stop that I really did not need ](*,) . Since it was a lap race and not a timed race,I thought the night, never really got dark enough. Mistakes #-o kept me from running better. Congrats to the winners of both classes :appl:

it was a 350km race, which at Spa was 50laps... Justin said it should take "about 2 hrs" to complete.. that was just a helpful calculated guess.

Oh and I don't know how it could've gotten darker.. at midnight they turned the sky off. (maybe you have your gamma set really high?)

Was a good race overall.. was expecting to run about 3rd or 4th in the GT2 pack, but got a lucky start which gave me false hope... squashed that quickly with a spin out of Eau Rouge (one of luckily only a handful of 'near' misses) #-o . My setup was too loose on entry and exit of the slower turns and I could never get it fixed so just had fun with it... glad to finish 3rd behind the unbelievable pace of Mr. Urban and Master Guru.

I thought it would take 2 hoursish, which we came short by 15 minutes. For me the race was, keep it clean and see where I would be...and I was in pretty darn good condition going into my 2nd to last stop, I think 24 second lead on Adriano and I wasn't even pushing at that point and well...big doh moment in the pits. Lost the lead then and tried to catch back up. To think after around 40 laps the top 3 were within 4 seconds...just amazing. In the end I just killed the medium tires which I originally didn't want to use but that was how things played out. Thanks for everyone showing up and a big thanks to the admins in MNRL for the help.

The R8's a dog, but I felt like a challenge, so I stuck with it. My only chance was to run a completely clean race and hope for mistakes from everyone else, and it almost worked. With about 10 to go I had an 8 second lead on Malik and I thought I'd be fine, but he definitely found some speed in that last stint that he didn't show for the first two. Blew right past me, then started smoking, but obviously his engine held together. Congrats to him.

Other than getting passed at the end by Malik and a very close call with a spinning Dwight coming out of Eau Rouge at night, my race was pretty uneventful, except for the two incidents with Sergio. At the end of the first lap, he came barreling into the hairpin way too hot, absolutely clouted me, and kept right on going. A smart driver wouldn't drive like an idiot on the first lap like that and a polite one would give back the spot if they punt you out of the way; I guess he's neither. He never got that far ahead of me and, predictably, spun after a few laps. A couple laps later, he was within a second of me and heading into the hairpin, I expected a carbon copy, and sure enough, this time he completely blew the corner and went flying through twice as fast, spun, and hit the tires. Thankfully, I didn't turn in, because if I had, both our races would have ended right there. It was asinine driving, plain and simple. Yes, it's just a game, but I spent many, many hours trying to get the R8 competitive, and I don't appreciate being punted and very nearly taken out by someone who can't even show up for qualifying.

Come on Adriano, it's best to not throw rocks from a glass house. Don't act like you drove a prefect race. Check your replay of lap 10 when you dive bombed me at the chicane. You came in way too hot and over shot the corner...it happens to all of us.

If you want to complain about a fellow driver, please take it up with the race admin. Calling people names post race and on the forums just makes you look likes an ass.

As for my race, overall it went quite well. Took the class pole with a solid lap time and thought I had a good strategy going into the race. Thankfully I had enough overall speed to make up for a mistake in my strategy. My plan was to start on a full tank of fuel, then come in for a half tank without changing tires. Then on my second stop take tires and a full fuel load. Well, one thing I didn't take in to account was lower tire temps in the dark. I just couldn't keep the heat in the tires because I couldn't push the worn tires as hard. I lost more time with slower lap times in my short stint than I gained by not taking tires. After I got fresh tires I mostly back up to speed.

Congrats to Malik on the overall victory and to the other podium finishers. I had a great time, thanks to Justin for running this and I hope we do it again.

I really like the enduro format the 2 class system and the round the clock day night cycles. I am not much of a setup guru so I set the car up for what I thought was stability. I never got close to the speeds Mark was running but I could stay under 2:20 for alot of laps without crashing. Except for one time through Enrouge after my pit I was fiddling with the hud going down the hill and got off line. Knocked about 15 mph out of the car and broke the front wheel got stuck in the kitty litter and limped all the way back around the course that and the damage pit took about 6 minutes. That left much of the night and next day trying to stay out of the way and turn laps. Congrats to the winners looks like the lmp class was very competative right down to the wire. This mod would make for a good weekly series with enough drivers.

The difference is I didn't hit you. I had you clear and ran straight because the car in front of you was very slow into the chicane and I went straight to avoid hitting him. Also, I waited for him to pass before rejoining. If I were Sergio, I would have just hit him and kept going.

So, boost 1 was the lowest setting? :-k I thought it was the top setting #-o damn I might have crashed at a faster pace, had I known that.

Adriano,I looked it over and I talked to Sergio a little bit after the race and I believe we agreed it was a bad move on his part. I think he also mentioned that after the race as well on the server. Regardless the race is over and it is time to move on.
Onto further endurance racing,
We are considering a monthly series or ever 2/3 weeks with either this mod or the Endurance Series mod. I wouldn't have any complaints with either mod but I think Malik (who helped set this race up) and I will talk over this a bit more and further details will be given soon. It would be 2 classes (a prototype and gt class) and the race distance would last more than 1 hour.

Really fun race, and thanks Justin for putting it together. I'd love to do more of these!

Qualification was abysmal for me. I had spent my practice time trying to find a good race setup, and therefore spent next to no time on qual setup. I ended up just taking a setup, taking out the fuel, putting qual tires on, and trying to put in more oversteer. Well, I ended up putting so much in that I was sliding the rears every corner, which heated the rears too much, which then caused even more oversteer. So, I start last.

Thinking I was in big trouble without a good setup, I put a ton of understeer back into the car, and I lucked into what was a great, stable, and reasonably quick setup for race conditions on hard tires! Phew! So, the race begins and, even with starting dead last, was able to move forward reasonably well. Had a fun tussle with the Ferrari 430 for several laps before clearing him at the Bus Stop Chicane. I was able to run clean laps by myself for much of the race and was fortunate to have the P2s catch me at opportune locations. Even enjoyed about 8 laps in the GT2 lead while the pit stop sequence cycled through. Even set my quick lap on the final circuit, but I was really pushing because I had thought we were going two-hours timed and I thought Mark may've had a pitstop to go yet. That wasn't the case, and Mark had the rest of us GT2 guys covered but I was happy to finish on the lead lap for class and to have made only two minor mistakes that cost me any appreciable time.

This was a really fun event. I'm hoping we can get more guys to show for future races. Class racing is always interesting in my book. Thanks again Justin and we'll be on the lookout for more announcements!!

Very good experince that hope we will repite, very cool at nigth were you can have the feeling of be there driving alon totaly alon, only you and your machine... :appl: the all global race format was perfect. In the race as you know i came to late, no qualy and then i thogth i need to push from the very early start, that cost me some msitakes with braking references, one very bad that allmost cost my race and Adrianos, very good for him that wait to came in the turn and lukly i didnt tuch him, sry for that... ](*,) , really in bouth i didnt want to pass you i was puting my car in a diferent line than you to aboid risk in such a hard braking point, like the first time... so i was 3th in lap 3 after Jose leading and Justin second on that moment i thougth to be there and catch a fast rithm to do the race and will see... one mini accident at nigth cost me the front wing and a early pit not programed braking all my strategy...
Gr all and very good the GT drivers that were paing alot of attention for the faster p1 cars coming, THNX.

CONGRATULATIONS THE WINNERS and all that finish. :appl:

Well I had high hopes for this race but the Full Moon must have put some bad karma on me. I thought I could make it through this thing with my controller that was starting to act up on me. I had been using it the last two weeks testing for my league and the frequency of the issues weren't that bad. But right from the start of this race it was haunting me. I never crash at Spa, But I did the Jaime Alguersuari crash at Spa and ripped the left front end off the car. Tried to get out on track to limp back to the pits but it was a no go. First 1+ hour enduro I failed to finish...pissed me off.....lol.

There was a once a month Endurance series run by a gent in the UK. It fizzled and died due to political and some internal politics. This could probably take its place. Maybe every other month schedule would work and not conflict with the other series to get more entries. I just wanted to make it to night which barely happened....lol. I think that was a good touch.

Yeah, you're talking about the good 'ole WOSEC series back in the GTP days, Ced. Good times, especially with the brightly colored PORRS Jags we ran! Those events were great!

Maybe we should start talking more seriously about doing an endurance series again. :-k
